Harvey Elliott has been handed his Blackburn Rovers debut with Tony Mowbray naming a strong XI for the Championship clash against Watford at Vicarage Road.
The Liverpool starlet comes into the side in place of Tyrhys Dolan, while Lewis Holtby is the only other change as the German returns to central midfield with John Buckley dropping to the bench.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for Elliott given the standard of opposition, with Watford still boasting several players of Premier League calibre and Ben Foster has only conceded once in five league outings so far.
He will accompany Ben Brereton and Adam Armstrong in attack, with the latter looking to add to his five goal tally.
The back five remains the same with Daniel Ayala partnering Darragh Lenihan in the middle, while Amari'i Bell and Ryan Nyambe retain their places at full-back.
Mowbray has a wealth of options available to him in comparison to Saturday's fixture against Nottingham Forest, with new signings Aynsley Pears, Barry Douglas and Tom Trybull all in the squad while Joe Rankin-Costello takes a spot on the bench after returning from a hamstring injury.
Sam Gallagher is absent following a knock in training while Derrick Williams is also left out after returning from a period of self-isolation.
