Girl Scout Jodie Chesney’s alleged murderer fell through roof as he tried to escape from police, court hears

BUNGLED ESCAPE

A DRUGS gang member who allegedly murdered student Jodie Chesney fell through a roof as he tried to flee from police, a court heard yesterday.

Svenson Ong-a-Kwie, 19, leapt out of a window on to a lean-to shed but crashed through it and was arrested.

Ong-a-Kwie, Manuel Petrovic, 20, and two boys aged 16 and 17, are accused of stabbing Jodie, 17, on a park bench in Harold Hill, East London, in March.

Prosecutors say the defendants acted over a “pathetic” respect issue. Petrovic said in a police interview he was “deeply saddened” by Jodie’s death.

But he added: “Due to my own safety and the safety of my family I will not be naming anyone I was with that evening.”

The four, all from East London, deny murder. The Old Bailey trial continues.

Jodie Chesney’s distraught dad Peter says he ‘will never come to terms’ with daughter’s stabbing as he vows to tackle knife crime
