Now we’re talking Turkey! At long last one of Brits’ favourite short haul holiday destinations is back in the game for early autumn breaks.

In late September and early October it’s still lovely weather at around 25C and offers excellent hotels at great prices. How about a five-star all-inclusive week for under £300 per person or a four-star self-catering sat for just over £160? Fabulous value!

The latest Twitter-fed travel rules changes from Transport Secretary Grant ’S-hapless’ Shapps actually made some sense for once, with a massive simplification of the hated, baffling Government traffic light travel system.

Hopefully, now we will have the straightforward clarity of a ROW Go/red No Go policy, it’s an end to the ridiculous, costly scramble home when a country went to quarantine status.

Add in the opening up of ROW hotspots such as Egypt, the Maldives, Kenya and Sri Lanka and we’ve got a winter sunshine winner.

Plus, in another huge bonus, there’s going to be an end to the outrageously expensive PCR tests for double jabbers (another great reason to get vaccinated!).

The Government allowed a shameless free-for-all with cowboy testing firms fleecing hundreds of thousands of Brits, so a very welcome step.

It needs every crumb of comfort it can get after a catastrophic 18 months, during which it has been shamefully ignored by the Government and strangled by a morass of red tape.
