Ancelotti unconvinced by Toffees winger

Carlo Ancelotti will look to reshape his Everton squad at the end of the campaign and that may be bad news for Theo Walcott.

The winger has featured regularly under Ancelotti but, according to the Mirror, hasn’t convinced the Italian coach that he can be a long-term solution on the right flank.

Walcott hasn’t lived up to expectation at Goodison Park since he completed a £20m move from Arsenal in January 2018. He has struck just ten times for the Toffees in 79 appearances.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to leave BVB on a free transfer. And Everton have been encouraged to make a move by former Germany striker Michael Rummenigge.

“I’m thinking he could join a club like Everton or West Ham or an Italian middle-of-the-table club,” he wrote in his column for Germany publication Sportbuzzer.

“In the Bundesliga, he could fit with Borussia Monchengladbach or Leverkusen. I hope he shakes off the pressure and finds his way although, right now, I have my doubts.”
