Emergency services are at the scene of a fire in Preston.

Eight fire crews and an aerial platform are at the scene of a large blaze on Skeffington Road as of 11.30pm on February 16.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has said the incident involves a commercial garage.

They have also warned that the operation may cause an issue for traffic in the area.

On social media the fire service said: "We currently have 8 fire crews and and ALP at the scene of a fire on Skeffington Road in Preston.

"The fire involves a commercial garage.

"Firefighting operations are in progress. Please be aware traffic in the area is likely to be affected."

At present traffic in the area seems to be moving - but there are signs of heavier congestion than normal for this time of night.

Motorist should probably avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.
