Clair Norris has recalled the moment that she had an epic tan blunder before making it even worse.

The 23-year-old EastEnders star, who is best known for playing Bernie Taylor in the BBC soap, shared the anecdote on social media, as she wished a friend happy birthday.

The actress was left with an "orange" glow after she applied fake tan and then kept on applying it, not realising that it would develop overnight and leaving her looking brighter than a tangerine.

Sharing on her Instagram Story, Clair posted a throwback pic of herself with a friend as they pulled faces at the camera.

In wishing her pal a happy birthday, Clair wrote as a caption: "So lucky to have met you all them years ago.

"With our dodgy fake tan that we kept applying because we didn't realise tan developed overnight and were bright orange at school the next day."

Unfortunately for her followers, Clair didn't post any pics of their tanning escapades, which has probably spared a few blushes if the description was to go by.

Clair has been with EastEnders since 2017, where she is part of the Taylor family and has been involved in some strong storylines during her time on the soap.

While she plays a slightly downtrodden character on the show, Clair often like to delight her fans by posting glamorous selfies on Instagram, in which she is unrecognisable from her soap alter ego.

She has recently celebrated her third anniversary with boyfriend Lewis Wood and has documented their romantic Cornwall staycation on social media.

At the time, Clair wrote as a sweet tribute to Lewis: "Three years of memories & a lifetime to come. Thank you for being my partner in crime. I love you endlessly…"

The couple revealed in April that they plan to move in together next year as they look to take their relationship to the next level.
