EASTENDERS producers have been rocked by the theft of their top-secret Christmas script.
Bosses are terrified the plot will be leaked after thieves broke into actress Jessica Plummer’s car outside her daughter’s nursery.
Thieves swiped the prized script, which was on the back seat of her car, and her gym gear. They have not yet been caught.
The theft has left EastEnders top brass on tenterhooks over fears much-awaited details of the Christmas episodes would be leaked to the public.
They considered rewriting the episodes but have stuck with the original after nothing has come to light.
Insiders say there has been a huge relief that the show’s spoilers for next week have not been leaked.
A pal of Jessica, 27, said: “They were concerned about details of the Christmas episodes getting leaked — and spoiling all their hard work. They waited it out though and it seems to have paid off as nothing has come of it.”
Jessica, who plays Chantelle Atkins, was targeted in a smash and grab raid in North London last month.
She left her car for a few minutes and came back to find her gym gear and the script had been swiped from the back seat.
Her pal said: “Her heart sunk. She’s only been in the show for less than a year and she was absolutely terrified of upsetting EastEnders top brass."
