This is the moment an unrelenting police chases down a fleeing teenager who was spotted trying to hide a blade under a vehicle.

Essex Police were patrolling the streets of Greenstead, Colchester when they spotted Jordan Silifatu, 18, pretending to trip by a parked car.

They carried out a stop-and-search due to reports of weapons being used in the neighbourhood and the teenager made a run for it when officers spotted a knife under the vehicle.

Bodycam footage taken at 4.14pm on May 22 shows the culprit running across the residential street to a back row of houses, before darting down an alleyway onto another road.

During the dramatic one minute 15 second chase, the officer can be seen with a pair of handcuffs at the ready as Silifatu approaches a high brick wall.

He uses a slab of concrete to give himself a leg up over a high brick wall and the pursuing policeman follows.

The officer then lands in an open field and finds the suspect just a few metres away waiting to be arrested.

The policeman then slaps handcuffs on the teenager and says: ‘You’re under arrest, all right?’

Silifatu was charged with being in possession of a knife in a public place. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday having pleaded guilty.
