Takeaway delivery service Deliveroo is launching in for the first time in Ebbw Vale in May - and they're looking for local workers to join their team.

The online food ordering service will launch late next month in the Blaenau Gwent town, allowing people to order food to their doorsteps in under 30 minutes.

And they will be looking to sign-up a number of new riders and drivers to deliver food to customers across the town.

The firm, which currently operates in more than 800 towns and cities across the world, will also begin their service in Cwmbran, with announcements as to which restaurants will join expected in the coming weeks.

It follows Deliveroo's launch in Merthyr Tydfil in March, with their arrival helping boost local businesses in the area, and help them to reach new customers through delivery.

Harrison Foster is Deliveroo’s UK Regional Director and says he can't wait for the launches next month.

He said: "We’ve seen a huge demand for Deliveroo in Cwmbran and Ebbw Vale and we’re excited to be launching next month. We’re really excited to be creating new work opportunities for local people.

"The team is looking for people with passion, drive and who want to deliver great customer service, who are seeking the added benefit of flexible work, amongst other perks.

"Anyone who's interested should head over to our website to sign up."

Deliveroo has seen rider demand soar this year to the point where it now works with 50,000 riders across the UK.

The company said it would offer all riders free insurance to ensure they are protected.

Restaurants, takeaways and grocery retailers will also be able to apply to become a Deliveroo partner too.
