A Larkhall couple celebrated their wedding after winning a staycation honeymoon this summer.

Jamie Allan and his wife Natalie, were lucky enough to have their honeymoon provided by truck, bus and coach manufacturer, Scania, for whom Jamie works.

Jamie, a customer services administrator at the firm's Bellshill branch, was awarded the four-night break at a luxury boutique Mandrake Hotel in central London, after he won a special competition organised by Scania to promote the increase of its staff's annual leave allowance by three days a year.

"We were originally planning to honeymoon abroad, but Covid put paid to our plans," said Jamie.

"So we were delighted when I heard I had won the competition, as it meant we would still be able to celebrate in style. We had a fantastic time in London, the hotel was brilliant and we did all the tourist things, including Buckingham Palace and the London Eye.

"We also took a trip out to Watford to the Warner Bros Studio Tour to see the making of the Harry Potter exhibition, which was really fascinating.

"There were also plenty of shopping opportunities in London, which Natalie loved! We would both like to thank Scania for helping us celebrate with a honeymoon we'll always remember."
