Dancing On Ice's Joe-Warren Plant, 18, has been forced to deny he had secret ice skating lessons before the series began.
The Emmerdale actor, who is paired with Vanessa Bauer, was reported to have had several figure skating lessons in Blackpool and so did not start from scratch.
A representative for Dancing On Ice confirmed this was not true, and added that even if any of the contestants had undertaken lessons before, this would not be breaking any rules.
They told The Mirror: "This is completely untrue."
Following Vanessa's post that said "Joe has never skated before", a source had told The Sun : "To repeatedly say Joe is a complete amateur is just nonsense.
"He might not be the most accomplished skater, as viewers saw on Sunday night with his fall, but he’s far from a novice.
"He’s not broken any rules and he’s not kept it a secret from the producers, but it’s not exactly in the spirit of the competition where everyone starts from scratch."
The show's spokesperson also clarified the reports that claimed Vanessa is breaking the show's Covid rules by living with her boyfriend Rory McCall, while filming the show.
"It’s only the married couples (there are two so four pro skaters in total) who are both on the show who are parted because we wouldn’t mix cohorts (the pairings on the show) and they’ve all happily agreed to this," they said.
"There are many pros and celebs on the series who have partners and families who are not in the cast that they’re able to travel home to.
"Vanessa is not any different to the majority of the cast (and there is no resentment amongst the married couples for any of them) and her living arrangements are entirely compliant with rules."
