Craig David to perform on Top Of The Pops Christmas special — with Dua Lipa and MNEK also set to star

HE told in Seven Days how he usually makes love on a Friday – but Craig David is making a special exception this year because it happens to be Christmas Day.

I can exclusively reveal the garage legend is the big name signed to perform at this year’s Top Of The Pops Christmas special.

And he will be in good company, as Dua Lipa and MNEK will also be starring in the pre-recorded show.

A TV insider said: “The BBC has gone all out with securing talent for this year’s Top Of The Pops Christmas special and they want it to be bigger and better than ever.

“Getting Craig to join the line-up was a real coup as he’s such a legend. He’ll be performing his song Really Love with KSI but everyone would love it if there was time for him to throw in one of his classics.

"It’s been a tough year for the industry so the Beeb is going to make this year’s one-off episode as celebratory as possible.”

Since teaming up with Brit rapper KSI, Craig has started working on a comeback of his own.

The singer, whose last album, The Time Is Now, was released in 2018, revealed last month how he was working on his eighth record.

“I love to think I can keep singing for ever and I will sing for as long as I can. And I hope the fans welcome that.”

I think plenty will be tuning into BBC One on Christmas Day to do just that, Craig.

Beeb gets festive

BBC Radio has released its December schedule, with Robyn hosting 6 Music on New Year’s Eve for a one-night-only special and the Beastie Boys taking the reins the following day.

There will be festive mixes from Paloma Faith, Dizzee Rascal and Rita Ora on the Sounds app, new Radio 1 presenters from Boxing Day, and on Radio 2 Jools Holland, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Craig Charles are all hosting on New Year’s Eve.

Plus Dolly Parton holds a special on December 19 on Radio 2.

Georgina's up for the sails

SHE might be going out with one of the world’s most expensive footballers but that doesn’t mean Georgina Rodriguez isn’t fond of a bargain.

The stunner wowed in a Pretty Little Thing one-piece lingerie outfit which is in the sales for £16.

Wearing some pricey Yves Saint Laurent furry slippers, Georgina posted the snap of herself relaxing aboard boyfriend Cristiano Ronaldo’s £5.5million superyacht.

The Juventus ace is thought to be worth £79million.

Dressed like that, she’s definitely on Santa’s nautical list.

Six's new single

YOU Me At Six have released their new single and video Suckapunch – the title track from their album due out in January.

The band will also play a series of gigs, beginning on January 7 at Pryzm in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, and an album release show at the same venue a week later.

Singer Josh Franceschi said: “Suckapunch is . . . a universal statement for recovering from a difficult time when you’ve been left behind.”

Kourt's murder mystery

IT’S no mystery, Kourtney Kardashian is a beauty.

But one thing that does remain unsolved is who murdered Matilda Di Aneglis’s character in hit Sky Atlantic drama The Undoing.

Pondering the whodunnit, reality star Kourtney posed in a purple bikini to ask her Instagram followers: “Who killed Elena Alves?”

Sam's up for album No4

DESPITE releasing third album Love Goes only a month ago, Sam Smith is already back in the studio.

The singer has teamed up to record new material with top producer Jae5 following the success of the latest album.

Ivor Novello-nominated Jae5 has previously worked with Jess Glynne and Mark Ronson.

He and Sam were snapped hard at work over the weekend, sending Sam’s fans into a frenzy.

The star must be making up for lost time after that last release was delayed by the Covid crisis. Hopefully it’ll be smooth sailing this time around.
