A CONVICTED murderer who confronted the London Bridge terrorist has been moved to a secure jail after death threats.
James Ford, 42, rushed to help Saskia Jones, 23, after she was fatally stabbed by twisted Usman Khan in his killing spree that also left Jack Merritt, 25, dead.
Ford was one of several inmates attending a conference on offender rehab and was on day release from Standford Hill open prison, Kent where he is serving life for murdering Amanda Champion, 21, in 2003.
It's not clear where the threats came from but he was transferred to a closed prison shortly after.
Amanda's aunt Angela Cox stormed:''He should have been locked up and the key thrown away. My niece doesn't have a choice to walk the streets. He is not a hero. He's a murderer.''
The online threats against him began just hours after last month's attack and he was moved to nearby higher-security Elmley Prison for his own protection.
His father Gerald Ford said he was receiving counselling over Saskia's death.
A prison source said: ''Management decided it was best to move him because of the threats - some were saying he should have died because of what he did. It was thought best for his own protection he should switch prisons.

Ford gave CPR to Saskia after she was knifed and also tried to bundle Khan away before rushing onto the bridge to join others tackling him before he was shot dead by cops.
He is expected to be released next autumn and is due to have a parole hearing in April.
