Coca-Cola Great Britain has announced the next stops on their 2021 Christmas Truck Tour - with Lancashire being snubbed yet again.

It's been five years since the iconic red truck last visited the county and hopes were high that it would make a return his month after last year's coronavirus cancellations.

This weekend it made a three-day stop at the Trafford Centre in Manchester, but this will be it's only segway into the North West.

Following visits visits to Glasgow, Gateshead, Castleford, Sheffield and Leeds in recent days, the truck will next travel to Wolverhampton on Wednesday and then Cardiff on Thursday and Friday.

LancsLive has contacted Coca-Cola Great Britain for comment on the latest snub.

Some Lancashire families made the trip to the Trafford Centre, including one woman who said she had been waiting nine years.

Unlike previous years when a full schedule of stops has been announced in advance, the company is this year drip-feeding its locations, confirming stops just a few days before its planned arrival.

The truck first appeared in Coca Cola's famous 'Holidays Are Coming' advert 26 years ago and has become a festive sight ever since.

This year, the tour is part of Coca Cola's Real Magic campaign, carrying at its heart a simple message of festive joy and inclusion, reminding people that the real magic happens in the moments of warmth and connection that we often associate the festivities with.

Louise Maugest, Marketing Director at Coca-Cola Great Britain, said: "Coca-Cola has always been synonymous with Christmas, particularly the iconic Truck Tour. With the magic of Christmas needed now more than ever, we thought it was only right that we bring it back this year, safely and securely.

"The Coca-Cola Truck Tour has always been a moment to remind us of the importance of togetherness and community, something particularly prevalent during the festive season."
