Chelsea leading Arsenal in Sergio Reguilon transfer hunt with Real Madrid demanding £25m fee for left-back

CHELSEA are reportedly in pole position ahead of Arsenal in the race to snare left-back Sergio Reguilon away from Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old - who has starred on his season-long loan at Sevilla - has been made available by Los Blancos with the club desperate to raise funds.

According to AS, Reguilon is keen to make an impression at Real, but Zinedine Zidane does not see him in his first-team plans.

As a result, the LaLiga champions are ready to sell him for £22.5m - putting the Blues and Gunners on red alert.

And Reguilon - who has been named in the LaLiga Team of the Year - is claimed to preference a move to the Premier League.

They state that Chelsea are more likely to sign the Real academy graduate as they can offer him Champions League football.

SunSport reported last week how the West Londoners were in 'advanced talks' with Reguilon.

Arsenal remain an option for Reguilon due to links between the club and his new agent Kia Joorabchian.

Reguilon - who has chipped in with three goals and four assists in 36 games this campaign - has failed to rule out a move this summer.

Commenting on his future in an interview with Marca, he said: "Who knows what will happen?”

“If my year at Sevilla had not been good, then this would not be happening. These teams would not ring.

“I’ve been saying since quarantine that until the season is over I won’t be talking about my future.

“I have no complaints about anything, about the city, the club, my colleagues. I feel very loved. Who knows what will happen in the future."
