CHELSEA and Manchester United are set to battle it out again for Borussia Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho this summer.
The 19-year-old England winger is one of the hottest properties in Europe after another stunning Bundesliga campaign.
The ex-Manchester City star continues to break records, as he continues his free-scoring and assisting season.
Blues boss Frank Lampard looked at bringing Sancho in during the January transfer window.
But he was forced into coolly interest, as he struggled to strike up a deal and decided to wait until the summer.
United had a similar issue, and could not fork out the £100m fee being demanded along with Bruno Fernandes £55m outlay.
It is understood Chelsea would have to offload some of their similar players – such as Willian – to go in for Sancho.
MAN CITY HAVE 20% SELL-ON
Lampard is keen to invest in the squad in other areas, but may be given extra funds after failing to make purchases in January.
Meanwhile, Man City have a clause inserted in Sancho’s deal to Dortmund allowing them to match any offers for him.
However, SunSport understands that this only affects bids from Premier League sides, but not those abroad.
An Etihad inside said: “It is well know the club has a 20 per cent sell-on clause and an option to match any offer.
“It was to make sure he did not come back without at least being in the equation for him.”
Sancho joined Dortmund for around £8m aged just 17 in August 2017.
He has gone to become one of their star players, scoring 12 goals and getting 12 assists this season.
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona are thought to be among those chasing the winger.
