Hull residents can now benefit from a new broadband and TV streaming package for just £25 a month.

purebroadband, an independent internet provider based in the city, has teamed up with Netgem to bring the streaming service to Hull for the first time.

Residents are now being offered unlimited broadband and a one-year free subscription to netgem.tv for £25 per month.

Adrian Bolster, managing director at purebroadband, said: “We’re delighted to be offering a new, unique service to the people of Hull.

“For far too long, local residents have been largely restricted to purchasing individual broadband and TV packages, which generally cost more money. Now, they’ll be able to enjoy everything in one easy, value-for-money bundle.

“This is just our latest step in offering our customers the very best in home entertainment.”

The TV package, which hasn’t been available in Hull before, includes over 100 live TV channels including Premier Sports HD.

It also provides access to all Freeview Play catch up apps such as BBC iPlayer as well as popular streaming services like Amazon Prime Video.

It can be controlled via a mobile phone or Amazon Alexa and can also be used to upgrade non-smart TVs.

netgem.tv can be accessed on multiple devices around the home, with the additional benefit of recording, pause and rewind functions on an award-winning HD TV box.

“We think it’s a great offering that allows users to watch all of their favourite TV shows seamlessly, and even provides personalised recommendations so users never miss a show they’d enjoy,” Mr Bolster said.

“We’re excited to start our first installs in the coming weeks and getting our customers up and running before Christmas.”

purebroadband was established in 2009 to deliver an alternative broadband internet service in Hull.

It offers a variety of services to households including fibre products and wireless broadband for those without a telephone line.

Recent projects include providing visitors at Beverley Racecourse with free internet throughout the 2019 season and plugging ultrafast broadband into The Glass House project in Queen’s Gardens.

The £20m refurbishment of the former Police Station HQ in Hull city centre includes 94 apartments and duplex penthouses, and the developer has created a six-star experience in terms of location and smart features.

purebroadband has installed fibre-to-the-home connectivity to apartments inside The Glass House, offering speeds of up to 1,000Mbps.
