Celebrity Big Brother star Jess Impiazzi has told fans her dad is dying in a poignant post as she helped him celebrate his birthday.
The 32-year-old actress shared a photo of her father in hospital as he marked his 70th.
Standing next to his bedside holding a birthday cake Jess wrote: "Defying the odds! My dad is on end of life care due to lung cancer, vascular dementia, Alzheimer’s and a heart aneurysm - but today he’s made it to his 70th birthday and that we shall celebrate.
"Happy birthday pops."
Jess's heartfelt post was met with an outpouring of support from her followers.
One wrote: "Jess, this is beautiful. Time with our Dad’s is so precious. He’s clearly extremely proud of his amazing daughter.
"The way in which we make the most of every moment of life is what counts. Sending positive energy & much love to you & family."
While another wrote: "Congratulations to your dad, Jess. How proud you are of each other. The smile on his face is so nice to see."
The actress has spoken openly about parents, including when her mum Debbie lost her sight when Jess was a teenager.
The actress and author faced immense challenges when she turned 17 after her mum was diagnosed with Uveal Effusion Syndrome - a rare degenerative eye disease.
Jess gave up her dance school scholarship to become the primary caregiver to her mum at the beginning of her diagnosis.
However, now, 15-years-on, the reality TV star says her mother has gained so much independence and confidence thanks to her much-loved guide dog Casey.
Jess told The Mirror "When my mum lost her eyesight nearly 15 years ago we all struggled as a family. My mum found it very difficult as she was such an independent person before.
“I saw such a difference when she got her first dog. She had completely lost all her independence but once they were introduced, her life did a complete 360.
“My mum is amazing. When she got her first guide dog, Casey, it completely transformed her life."
Jess also said she is even closer to her mum than she was before.
“Me and mum have always been close, but I guess her losing her eyesight made us even closer in so many ways. I often refer to us as the Absolutely Fabulous mother-daughter duo,” she joked."Read More Read More
