Jay Rodriguez headed a late winner as Burnley snatched three points at Bournemouth to move up to 10th in the Premier League table.
It was the game's only shot on target as the Clarets sub headed in Ashley Westwood's cross.
The first half was short on chances with neither keeper making a save. Ashley Barnes was perhaps fortunate to avoid a booking for a high challenge on Simon Francis while there was a lengthy stoppage after James Tarkowski won a header against Ryan Fraser which left the winger down after a nasty landing.
Those incidents were just two of numerous fouls in an opening 45 minutes that had no flow.
The second half was not much better with neither side forcing a save from the opposition keeper.
Bournemouth had much of the play but were reluctant to shoot from outside the box and Burnley stood firm in appalling weather conditions before striking late with the game's only shot on target.
We rate the Clarets players from the trip south.

A game that was made for the captain. Headed, blocked and intercepted all afternoon 7
