Brookside actor Philip Olivier is a dad for the fourth time after his girlfriend Amy Virtue gave birth to a little girl named Renée Olivier.

The actor, who played Tinhead in the soap, announced the happy news on Twitter and called Amy a “superwoman”.

Alongside a picture of the brothers holding their little sister, Philip, who has three young sons, told his followers: “Then there was 4! Welcome Renée Olivier.

"Born 24th September weighing 10lb 3oz Well done @olivierbrothers you are superwoman."

The boys looked overjoyed as they cradled their new baby sister, who was wrapped in a pink blanket and wearing a pink and green floral babygrow.

The actor's celebrity pals were among those to rush to the comment section to congratulate the pair.

Towie star Lucy Mecklenburgh wrote: "WOW!!!! Congratulations," while Philip’s partner Amy commented: "My babies, how did I get so lucky."

Love Island star Scott Thomas added: "Amazing news", while Adam Thomas’ wife Caroline told him: "The perfect family!"

Fans were also quick to send their well wishes to the pair. One wrote: "Gorgeous family." and another added: "Congratulations she is beautiful."

Philip and Amy, who share sons Oscar, Sunny Ray and Phoenix, were due to tie the knot in Cyprus in June of this year, but it is not known if the wedding went ahead.

Philip announced the couple were expecting their fourth child back in March.

In an Instagram post he shared a photo of Oscar, Sunny Ray and Phoenix wearing matching pyjamas and holding a scan photo, writing: "Oops I did it again #4."

He reveal the gender of his child a month later, in a clip which saw the couple telling of their excitement at the prospect of welcoming their first daughter.

In the video Amy exclaims: "I can’t believe it!"

Philip has starred in Big Finish's Doctor Who audio dramas, played The Seventh Doctor's companion Hex and Jason Gallagher in hit comedy series Benidorm.

In Brookside his Tinhead character was initially a bully but he changed his ways when his actions nearly killed his little sister.

He formed an unlikely bond with Sinbad, who invited the troubled teen to live with him and Tinhead started a relationship with Emily.

When his girlfriend was killed in the siege in 2002, he started to go off the rails and narrowly avoided jail several times.

In the final episodes of the show he was working as a limo driver and was involved in the killing of a drug dealer.

Philip is CEO of tour company Liverpool City Sights, which runs open-top bus tours around the historic city.
