Cumbrian residents are being urged to be on the look out for a “distinctive bright green” JCB that was stolen close to Carlisle.

The distinctive digger was stolen from a farm in Kershope Forest area, north of the market town of Brampton.

It was stolen overnight on Saturday, May 23.

Cumbria Police are now appealing for witnesses that may have seen any suspicious vehicles in the area or possibly towing a trailer used to steal the machine.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "Police are also asking the public to report any sightings of the distinctive bright green JCB digger which are normally yellow.

"It still retains the original yellow engine cover with peeling black paint."

Witnesses can contact Cumbria Police by calling 101 or by emailing [email protected]

Alternatively they can get in touch by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111 and quoting crime reference number CRI00063633.
