Police are investigating after a shot was fired at a house following reports of a disturbance in the street.
No injuries have been reported.
Police patrols have been stepped up around the area of Fell Street in Leigh, Wigan.
Emergency services were initially called to the scene at 5.50pm on Tuesday.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers were called to reports of a disturbance on the street.
Subsequent investigations found a firearm had been discharged and a shot fired at a house.

It's not known whether anyone was inside the property was hit.
No arrests have been made.
Photographs taken tonight showed forensic investigators at the scene.
A large cordon is in place.
In a statement to the Manchester Evening News, GMP said: "At around 5.50pm on Tuesday, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Fell Street in Leigh.
"Enquiries have established that a firearm was discharged and a shot was fired at a house.
"No injuries have been reported.
"A scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing.
"Residents will see an increased police presence as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
"No arrests have been made."
The force has issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
