We may have a better idea of who the next James Bond will be.
Leading bookmakers Coral have revealed that Outlander star Sam Heughan is now their favourite to take on the role of James Bond , once Daniel Craig leaves the role following next Bond film No Time To Die.
Despite Richard Madden having previously been the long-running favourite for the role with bookies, he is now second in the running, tieing with The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston and Happy Valley actor James Norton.
"Over 70% of all the bets we have taken on James Bond over the last seven days have been for Sam Heughan who is proving a very popular choice with punters who see the Outlander star as the perfect replacement for Daniel Craig ," said Coral’s John Hill.
The actor already has a legion of fans for his turn as heroic Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser in Outlander, where he leads a long-running romance with time-traveling Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe).
Either Sam Heughan or Richard Madden would end a long wait, however.
"We've not had a Scottish actor playing Bond since Sean Connery but the betting now suggests that wait will end with Heughan," added Hill.
