A body has been found in the search for a missing Lancashire man.

Ethan Johnson, 41, went missing from the Leyland area - with police issuing an appeal to help find him last night.

Officers searching for him discovered the body of a man in Meadowbank, Penwortham, at 8.30am today.

The body has not been formally identified, but police believe it to be Ethan.

His family have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file will be passed to HM Coroner.

A police spokesman said: "We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who responded to our previous appeals in our search to find Ethan. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this very sad time."
