Arsenal keen on shock double transfer for attacking Ivory Coast twins Hamed and Amad Traore from Empoli and Atalanta

ARSENAL are looking to sign the Traore brothers after missing out on landing the Toure brothers, according to reports.

The Gunners have been linked with attacking duo Hamed and Amad Traore, who hail from the Ivory Coast - just like Kolo and Yaya.

As sensational as the claim appears, the siblings both enjoyed a fine season in Italy before it was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Hamed, 20, has earned rave reviews as an attacking midfielder for Sassuolo, who he joined on loan from Empoli.

His younger brother Amad, 17, who plays as a winger, enjoyed his breakthrough this term by making three appearances for Atalanta.

Football website claim the brothers have played their way onto the radars of Gunners transfer chiefs.

This is not the first time Arsenal have gone for brothers from the African country.

Kolo Toure signed for the North London club in 2002.

His brother Yaya - who went onto become a Manchester City legend - also had a trial with Arsenal but they turned down the chance to sign him.

There are fears at Arsenal though that completing a deal for the Traore bros will be tough - especially Hamed.

He is only half-way through a two-year loan with Sassuolo, who have an obligation to buy him once the deal comes to an end in 2021.

On top of that, it is believed Juventus have first refusal on him.

Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi said a deal for Hamed to move to Turin "is in the pipeline" and that terms were agreed verbally last summer.

Corsi said at the time: "In January, he was already a young man with of great prospect, but the last five months have given us a player of importance, a prospect.

"I think he is destined for a very important career because today, he is only at 70-80 per cent of his technical and physical qualities, but he has an extraordinary intelligence and will soon fill this gap."

Arsenal chiefs think a £20million offer could convince him to move to North London.

Amad is the easier of the two to sign owing to his age and relative lack of experience.

But Atalanta see him as a potential superstar and will try their hardest to hold onto him.
