Arsenal have made enquiries with Manchester United over Donny van de Beek's availability, according to reports.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to see a number of new signings arrive at United this summer, there could also be some departures.

Several stars have already been linked with moves away from Old Trafford and the latest is midfielder Van de Beek.

The Dutchman played a starring role in Ajax's unlikely run to the Champions League semi-finals in 2019 and United received plaudits for pulling off a coup when they signed him last summer for just £35.1million.

However, Van de Beek struggled in his first season in England and has found game time at a premium throughout the campaign, starting just four times in the Premier League.

As a result, the 24-year-old's future has been in doubt and Arsenal are the latest club said to be interested.

The Gunners are chasing a midfielder this summer after missing out on Emi Buendia to Aston Villa and are said to be interested in Brighton's Yves Bissouma.

According to 90min, Mikel Arteta's side have also made contact with United about Van de Beek and have asked to be kept up to date on his situation.

Should United keep or sell Van de Beek this summer?

Meanwhile, Derby County are expected to clinch another loan deal for United centre-back Teden Mengi.

That's according to the Athletic who report Wayne Rooney's admiration for the 19-year-old centre-back the Rams had on loan last season. Mengi made nine appearances in the Championship as he helped Derby avoid relegation.

The MEN reported last month that Derby wanted to sign Mengi again and it seems likely they will clinch a deal.
