800,000 Brits have until midnight tonight (July 13) to apply for a one-off payment of £7,500 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The cash injection is being offered as the government work to ease the strain of lockdown on the self-employed.

The coronavirus lockdown has left the British economy struggling to get going again after the country was left at a standstill.

Finance expert Marting Lewis was on hand with advice on the final episode of his ITV1 show, The Martin Lewis Money Show, last week.

According to the MoneySavingExpert.com founder, 800,000 people are at risk of missing out on the government grant with the deadline at midnight tonight - as shown in the video above.

On Thursday night's show, Martin explained how only 2.7million of the 3.5million who are eligible for the grant have applied.

"Monday, midnight, the last time you can apply for Self Employment Grant 1," he said.

"800,000 people have not claimed, if you're not sure try the HMRC eligibility calculator online.

"If you know someone self-employed, have this conversation with them, have they checked? After Monday, no go, not happening.

"Now I know some people thing 'I've been working, I can't claim,' not true, the Self Employment Grant you can work.

"The key question is, has your business been affected by covid? Simply that could mean less demand, higher cost.

Martin battled through his live show from home

"So if you can put your hand on your heart and say, yes, it's been worse, then sign the declaration, get the money."

If you are HMRC should have been in touch but the money is still owed to 800,000 self-employed Brits yet to apply.

Martin Lewis is urging you to head to the government website and apply - check your eligibility and cash in on government support if you have been affected. For more information click here.
