1 | Rendez Vous Cafe Best Bakeries Orange County

Must-Try: Mini Beignets (Nutella or Lemon Meringue)

We know your first instinct when you’re at Rendez Vous Cafe is to order everything in sight, but you have to try to pace yourself…or don’t, we won’t judge! Always sweet and never boring, Blackmarket Bakery is full of personality, unique treats and only the best ingredients. While we firmly believe that anything you get here is going to be amazing—from homemade marshmallows and Cookie Monster bread pudding to buttery drop cookies and rich tarts—the party won’t start ‘til a Blackmarket Bakery cake walks in!

Here’s a little Français for you: “c’est si bon” means “it is so good”—and this bakery is named that for a reason! When you walk into C’est Si Bon, you’re transported to a true boulangerie. The shelves are full of enticing French goodies like raspberry croissants and pain au chocolat, but none are more alluring than the warm, fresh racks of the fluffiest baguettes you’ll find on this side of the Eiffel Tower. Order a delectable sandwich on these fresh baguettes.

5 | Bright Bread Co. Best Bakeries Orange County

Must-Try: Banana Bread

Born in May 2020, Bright Bread Co. is new to the OC scene, but this bakery has captured the hearts of locals with its delicious, dietary-sensitive loaves. The banana bread is a must-try: it’s aromatic, perfectly moist and you might want to eat the whole loaf in one sitting. Bright Bread Co. also offers gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options, so there’s really a loaf for everyone. Did we mention they deliver to your doorstep?

Must-Try: Sourdough Loaf

Close that sourdough recipe tab you’ve had open since 2020 and treat yourself to the real deal at OC Baking Company. While this shop offers tons of goodies from their own bakery as well as treats from pop-up vendors, we’re in love with OC Baking Company’s classic sourdough loaf. The dough is spongy and tangy with a robust, crisp crust. It’s perfect for slicing up and toasting with a little butter and cinnamon sugar, or you can hollow it out and make a bread bowl!

7 | Porto’s

Must-Try: Pastel de Carne (Meat Pie)po

Say “hola” to the best Cuban bakery in Orange County! Porto’s is a family-owned business with locations throughout LA, and now they’re sharing the deliciousness with us in OC. Porto’s popularity isn’t by chance: the menu is packed with authentic Cuban classics like flaky chicken empanadas and mouthwatering papas rellenas (but we never leave without a hearty pastel de carne).

Must-Try: Pain au Chocolat (Chocolate Croissant)

Anyone who watches The Great British Bake Off knows how much work goes into making a perfectly flaky, buttery, luscious croissant, and Pandor Artisan Bakery has mastered it! But don’t leave before checking out their full menu; Pandor’s Jardinière Crêpe and Quiche du Jour will make you feel like you’re sitting on the banks of the Seine.

Must-Try: Old-Fashioned Gooey Cinnamon Rolls

Okay, so, here’s what you do: find a parking spot on Main St. and follow the smell of cinnamon sugar until you end up at Sweet Jill’s Bakery. Sweet Jill’s cases are always full of the most adorable decorated cookies, but our absolute favorite indulgence is the warm old-fashioned gooey cinnamon roll—don’t forget to request icing!
