MANCHESTER UNITED fans could not contain their excitement as a picture emerged of Erling Braut Haaland appearing to sign a Red Devils shirt.

The image, shared on Twitter with the caption “hello there”, showed the United transfer target putting pen to… polyester on the current home jersey.

Of course, it is unclear the reason behind the signing while some suggested that the pic might even be photoshopped.

Nonetheless, plenty of United supporters shared their joy and the Red Devils Reddit page even crashed.

One said: “Good looking lad. The red will suit him.”

Another added: “It’s happening,” with a gif of Haaland celebrating for current side Red Bull Salzburg.

And a third wrote: “Welcome to Old Trafford.”

Haaland uploaded to his Instagram on Tuesday evening to offer his appreciation to his fans for their support throughout 2019 ahead of the winter break – Salzburg's next game is not until February.

He then added a chick emoji next to 2019 and a lion one alongside 2020 as he looks to continue his sensational rise.

WEST HAM striker Albian Ajeti is reportedly open to leaving the claim on loan.

According to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old is frustrated over his lack of game time having featured in just seven matches this campaign.

But the player has already played for two teams this tern, having appeared in two games for Basel before he joined the Hammers.

He would only be allowed to leave on loan to a club which is starting their season in the New Year.

This could mean he makes the move to Sweden, USA or Japan.

SPURS are reportedly keen to snap up Hull star Jarrod Bowen in January.

The Sunderland Echo claim Jose Mourinho is a fan of the former Hereford ace.

Bowen is tied down with the Tigers until the summer.

Speaking of his future, Hull boss Grant McCann said: “I think the owners have stated he is not for sale unless there is a substantial offer.

“So we will continue to work with Jarrod and he loves it here and loves playing for Hull City.

“If he didn’t, you would not see these performances week-in, week out.”

BORUSSIA DORTMUND are reportedly chasing Sao Paulo youngster Antony, as they seek a long-term replacement for Jadon Sancho.

The Englishman is being courted by the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea – and it is no secret that he is likely to leave BVB in the summer.

Antony, 19, has been a regular for Sao Paulo in 2019 – and has caught the eye for the Brazilian side.

Any European side attempting to prise him away from his native Brazil are expected to have to pay around £17million for his services.

The Brazilian side have Antony under contract until 2023 – meaning there is no immediate pressure to sell their talented youngster.

Antony has registered four goals and six assists in 29 games in his first full season in the senior set-up.

He also made his Copa Libertadores debut – as well as breaking into the Brazil Under-23s side.

According to Bild, Dortmund want to initially bring Antony in as back-up for the in-form Sancho – before inevitably losing the former Manchester City man in the summer.
