Winston Hill To Fight Ronald Naidu?

“We have a big programme and big fights. We’re in the talks to have Naidu defend his title as well against an opponent that will be announced at a later date,” Hill said.

New Fiji Super Welterweight title holder Winston Hill is likely to fight Ronald Naidu in the welterweight division on July 15 at the Vodafone Arena, Suva.

In a press conference yesterday Hill, 29, indicated that there is a 66kg title and 72kg division that he is weighing his options on.

The Olympian and Commonwealth Games bronze medalist said that Naidu’s opponent will be named later.

The main bout will be between James Singh and Semi Dauloloma for the Fiji heavyweight title while the main supporting bout will be between Joseph Kwajo and Isikeli Senidoko.

“We have a big programme and big fights. We’re in the talks to have Naidu defend his title as well against an opponent that will be announced at a later date,” Hill said.

“It’s been a very long time since James has defended his title. A lot of people are eager to watch this fight and I believe it would go down as one of the mega fights in Fiji after a very long time. There is a lot of dislike between both teams and this creates healthy competition.

“It will be a rematch for Joseph and Isikeli, we all know how that fight ended in our first programme with Joseph coming out of a so-called controversial decision.

Cruiserweight champion, Alivereti Kauyaca will fight Apisai Naciqa.
