The previous Vunivalu of Rewa, Ro Epeli Vakacaracara Mataitini, passes away at the age of 85 on October 18, 2020.
Ratu Naulu Mataitini will be traditionally installed as the Vunivalu of Rewa this Friday.
The traditional installation ceremony will take place at Lomanikoro Village at 10am.
The previous Vunivalu of Rewa, Ro Epeli Vakacaracara Mataitini, passes away at the age of 85 on October 18, 2020.
The Vunivalu title holds significance in Rewa. It has been traditionally held by the Mataitini family.
The Native Lands Commission (NLC) acting chair Apimeleki Tola confirmed Ratu Naulu’s appointment as the Vunivalu last year.
He added the installation ceremony would mark the traditional acknowledgement of his new role.
