School Rewards Athletes For Their Achievements

The SVC swimming teams came second in the boys’ and girls’ medal tally. The school had a total medal tally of 32 gold medals, 16 silver, and 23 bronze.

Fifteen-year-old Kelera Mudunasoko has set her sights to represent the national team and win regional or international swimming events.

She set two-national records for Swami Vivekananda College during the 2023 National Schools Swimming Championship. She was among the SVC swimmers who were honoured for their achievements at the lastFriday.

Mudunasoko hails from the village of Levuka in Lakeba, Lau, with maternal links to Volivoli Village in Nadroga.

She broke the girls’ 200 metres and 100m breaststroke records.

Mudunasoko is a member of the Barracuda Swim Club and would be taking part in the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, from July 14 to 30.

“It is a great thing to be awarded and recognised for your achievements,” she said.
