Isaiah Gibson and his family came to support the Moana Pasifika side in last Saturday’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash against the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

“I was in Apia, Samoa for two years but now I’m back in Fiji,” Gibson said.

“We’re here to support Moana Pasifika, sadly my cousin (Sam Wye) wasn’t selected to play but hopefully in the next game he gets a chance.”

Wye is a 22-year-old Fijian rugby player who made his debut for Moana Pasifika in round 12 against the Hurricanes.

“For Sam (who travelled with the team) need to have a mix to numb the emotion but he has a long career ahead of him,” he said.

Gibson highlighted the need to include more Fijian players in the Moana Pasifika squad to add more flair to the team.

“I definitely want the Moana Pasifika team to win before the season ends,” he said.

Gibson said the Moana Pasifika team has been building depth the last two years and hopes that the team improves especially with a new coach next year.
