Sigatoka Special School received essential supplies from the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and its associates earlier this week.

What began as a recruitment drive by the resort’s executive housekeeper Asinate Nai, led to an even bigger opportunity for the resort to serve its community as part of its ‘Spirit to Serve’ culture.

Marriott International is an equal opportunity provider committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.

Ms Nai reached out to the school headteacher Asenaca Sukanatabua to discuss opportunities for students to be employed at the resort.

They created a school wish list for supplies to ensure students have the best equipment and facilities.

The donation consisted of garden tools, personal hygiene kits and linen.

Ms Nai was grateful to the housekeeping team for organising the sale of their cakes and pastry at the resort to raise funds for personal items for students.

“I am thankful to the resort for purchasing the garden implements and donating linens, which the school uses for projects that are sold to visitors,” she said.

Resort general manager Silvano Dressino said they would continue to take the ‘Serve Our World” culture to communities of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

He said their resort associates were impassioned to do good in their communities.
