Fiji Football Association’s technical director Timo Jankowski visited two schools to support them in their preparations for the Fiji Secondary Schools Southern Zone qualifiers.
“I had a very good session at Rampur College and Vashist Muni College in Navua and I’m confident both schools will do wonders in the competition,” said Jankowski told Fiji FA Media.
“We may say Navua is a small district, but I have seen a lot of potential after visiting both schools. “There are a lot of passionate footballers who are eager to learn and develop.”
Navua Football has produced top players like Ratu Suliano Matanitobua, Romulo Kaibau, Saimoni Ratu. Saiyad Ali, Patrick Wise, Esala Ali, Seveci Rokotakala, Netani Doli, Thomas Dunn and the list goes on.
Jankowski said his main purpose was to identify the best talents.
“I’ve scouted some players for our academy teams and a few for the Digicel Under-16 national girls team, which is very great.
“I would like to thank the teachers and management of both schools for the support they have shown during my visit which will surely help in the development of football in Fiji,” added Jankowski.
