Fiji Airways cabin crew members Akesa Delai and Chanel Stolz Stephen have a lot to celebrate after returning to work last week.
They were among 200 employees who resumed work last week after they were laid-off during the COVID pandemic in 2020.
For the first time after three years, they were back doing what they love best.
“It is overwhelming and it feels so surreal to be back in uniform,” Ms Delai, who joined the profession on October 25, 1995.
“It felt that we did not leave. We just took a three-year vacation without pay.”
She said there had been a lot of changes within the airline.
“Love to be back doing what I love. With a young crew, they have a long way to go. We look forward to working with them with Fiji Airways.”
