The Fiji Rugby Union owes the Vodafone Fijiana XVs players $172,600.
Yesterday interim board chairman Peter Mazey said paying the players would take some time.
Mazey has assured that they would also investigate as who made the promise to pay players $300 instead of $100 per day as stated in the FRU policy.
When asked yesterday if the interim administrator Simione Valenitabua made the promise, Mazey said the interim administrator was in France when the decision was made, to which Valenitabua nodded to agree that he was out of the country at the time.
“We are going to meet, we will find the money – it will take time,” Mazey said.
“I think it (the promise) came from their team manager to be honest, we’re conducting an investigation on that.”

He said the budget request brought to the interim trustees who were only appointed that week was just for the Test match against the Wallaroos.
“We did not know there were other games as part of the Oceania and the budget was prepared that day and given to the acting CEO at that time,” he said.
