The Fiji Pearls are currently in their final phase of preparation for the Vitality Netball World Cup, which will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from July 28 to August 6.
Head coach Unaisi Rokoura expressed her satisfaction with the team’s progress, particularly highlighting the players’ individual efforts in training.
Rokoura emphasised the importance of the overseas-based players who have already joined the team, stating that they would play a crucial role in the tournament.
“We have to name the best available 12 players we have in the country to be part of this year’s World Cup,” she said.
The selection process for the Fiji Pearls began in January, with overseas-based players joining the local players for two training camps.
“We’ve managed to cut down from 28 to 20 then to the final 18 players,” she said.
