The killing by Hamas of Israeli civilians, some while sheltering in their own homes, was horrific and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. But equally horrific is Israel’s bombardment of overcrowded Gaza.
It is sickening to watch residential apartment blocks being razed to the ground, one after the other, knowing there could be men, women and children in these buildings. Imagine how traumatic it must be for a small child to be in this hellhole. And there is nowhere these people can escape to.
By cutting off electricity and fuel supplies to Gaza Israel is in effect going to kill everyone in need of urgent medical attention, and with the incessant bombing the number of deaths keeps rising.
That should be more than enough vengeance for anyone. Unless this madness stops, Israel’s actions will one day come back to haunt it.
