Montreal to host Diving World Cup event in 2024

The event will take place at the Olympic pool from Feb. 29 to March 3, FINA said.

The kickoff of the 2024 Diving World Cup season, which will set the table for the Paris Olympics, will take place in Montreal, FINA announced Wednesday morning.

The event will take place at the Olympic pool from Feb. 29 to March 3, FINA said.

Montreal will be one of three stops during this season shortened by the Olympics. The second is in Berlin from March 21 to 24, and the season will culminate with the super final in Xi’an, China, from April 19 to 21.

Individual divers, synchronized pairs and teams will earn spots in the Xi’an super final based on their performances in the Montreal and Berlin events. The super final will feature the top 18 athletes in the individual events and the top eight in the synchronized and team events.

The World Cup season will be inserted between the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar, from Feb. 2 to 18, and the Paris Olympic Games, from July 26 to Aug. 11.
