King Township man charged after 3-D printed handgun, other weapons seized

51-year-old also allegedly in possession of four other illegal firearms, silencer, ammunition

A 51-year-old man faces charges after cops allegedly seized five illegal firearms – one of which was a 3-D printed handgun – from his King Township home.

York Regional Police said their guns, gangs and drug enforcement unit executed a search warrant at a rural property on Hwy. 9, between 11th Concession and 15th Sideroad, on Oct. 20.

“Officers seized five illegal handguns, including a 3-D printed handgun, as well as a suppressor (also known as a silencer), ammunition and several magazines, two of which were prohibited high-capacity magazines,” Const. Maniva Armstrong said in a statement released Wednesday.

A man was arrested.

George Zagouris is charged with five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm; five counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition; three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device; and two counts of careless storage of a firearm.

“The investigation is ongoing,” Armstrong said.

“York Regional Police recognizes the devastating impact that illegal guns have on the communities we serve,” she said. “Our members are committed to combatting this type of crime and taking illegal guns off our streets through the Guns, Gangs and Violence Reduction Strategy.”
