HIGHLANDERS MARSHAL ESCAPES E50 000 FINE

MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders marshal escaped a E50 000 fine for assaulting a referee during their last year fixture against Manzini Sea Birds.

Maswati Dlamini appeared before the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC) yesterday charged for assaulting referee Petros Mbingo on the day. Dlamini who did not plead guilty was then suspended for three Premier League of Eswatini games effective yesterday. The DC Chairman Thulani Sibandze said they could not impose monetary fines since Highlanders was fined E70 000 for the similar case.

In another case that preceded it, Highlanders were slapped with a E10 000 fine for attempted assault of a referee during a match against Green Mamba this year. However, E5 000 of the fine was suspended on condition that Highlanders did not commit the similar offence in the remaining games of the seasons.
