‘BULL’ IDENTIFY PETER REPLACEMENT - ALLY

MBABANE - Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe has revealed that the team will get another defender who will replace Peter ‘Beast’ Dlamini who left.

The former Inkunzi Emnyama defender, who is fondly known as ‘Beast’, left Highlanders after the expiry of his contract, last month to join Correctional Services side Green Mamba after having being on the wish-list of the Ernest Mavuso-led side for a long time, alongside goalkeeper Khanyakwezwe Shabalala. The Mbabane giants owner said that they were already talking to a player who would replace the departed player. “We will find a good defender in Ghana, who will replace Peter in the team and we don’t have a problem with him joining Green Mamba. We will remain with only committed players in the team and we don’t have a problem with players leaving the team for greener pastures. Peter’s heart was no longer with us and we can only wish him the best of luck in his new team,” he said. It was reported in our publication last week that the player, who  joined the club in 2016 after having been recruited by ex-Highlanders Manager Sihle Dlamini from  Stumbo  XI, had been linked with an exit from the ‘Bull’s kraal towards the end of the 2022/23 season, after a fall out with Solly Luvhengo.

Happy

According to sources in the Highlanders camp, the player wanted to leave the team after he was reportedly not happy about the treatment he received from when he was nursing a knee injury, which he suffered during one of the league games. Kgomongwe went on to reveal that Peter took a good decision. “We don’t have a problem with him and he took the decision knowing that it was right for him. We are excited about the new season and the supporters should know that we will be aiming to go back to Africa this season,” he added.

Linked

Green Mamba beat league rivals Mbabane Swallows in the signature of the player after he was also linked with a move to the red and white capital city giants for a long time. The defender will be a second player from the black and white capital giants to join the champions in about a year after striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. The national team Sihlangu lethal striker joined Green Mamba at the start of the recently-ended campaign.
