Members of the Musu family of the murdered Charloe Musu, on early Thursday morning, March 16, 2023 converged at the Ministry of Justice in Sinkor to seek clarifications on what they termed an apparent conspiracy to unjustifiably exclude them from key decisions concerning the remains of their daughter.
Speaking to journalists before their meeting with the Minister’s office, the head of the family, Bishop Julius C Musu said they have gathered to, among other things, inquire why has the government taken possession/custody of their daughter, Charloe Musu’s body with no information or courtesy to the family, and why is the government making major decisions on the body without the involvement of, or at least information to the family except through the social and traditional media (radio stations and newspapers).
Bishop Musu said the family wants to know why has the government chosen to ignore all their attempts or efforts through official communications, to seek clarification regarding all of the pronouncements the government is making concerning the murder and corpse of their daughter, and how did the government arrive at all of the decisions or actions about the body without the involvement or knowledge of the family.
“The family is not aware of, among other things, the decision on the conduct of an autopsy, who the pathologist is, and how he/she was selected, and the government surprisingly selected a funeral home (St. Moses) just within hours of the death or murder of Charloe Musu, without the involvement or knowledge of the family,” Bishop Musu stated.
He asserted that the family is baffled by why the government, through the Minister of Justice and Police Inspector General, instructed the management of St. Moses Funeral Home to prevent the family from seeing the body of their daughter, and why has the government chosen, from the very beginning, to mislead the public that Justice Scott and other family members were not cooperating with the government or police investigation.
He frowned at the government for keeping the family in the dark about all the decisions, actions, announcements, and pronouncements on their daughter’s remains.
Meanwhile, shortly after their meeting with the office of Justice Minister and Attorney General, Frank Musa Dean, Bishop Musu quoted the Minister’s Special Assistant, Romeo Clarke as saying that the family would receive an official communication from the Ministry (government) before the end of Thursday, March 16 or Friday, March 17, 2023 as to the pronounced autopsy and other key decisions regarding the status of the late Charloe Musu’s corpse.
Bishop Musu, however, expressed disappointment and frustration that the government, through the Ministry of Justice, would wait for their physical presence t the ministry before promising to officially inform the family about decisions on their daughter’s remains despite their repeated efforts to seek information and clarifications from the government.
Up to ores time yesterday, the family said they had not received any communication from the Ministry of Justice as promised, but they were looking up to today, Friday, March 17, 2023, as indicated by the government.
