A woman accused of stabbing her partner in a suspected domestic violence incident in Perth’s north on Thursday has fronted court charged with his murder.

Lauren Vivian Brown faced Northbridge Magistrates Court on Saturday morning donning a police forensics jumpsuit, speaking only to confirm her name and that she understood the charge against her.

Police attended the pair’s Plaistow Street apartment in Joondalup just before 9pm on Thursday, discovering a man in his 30s who had suffered stab wounds to his chest.

Despite attempts by paramedics to save the man, he died at the scene.

Brown scoured the courtroom as her lawyer told the court she would not be applying for bail, with the accused to remain behind bars until her next appearance in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on October 25.

Homicide detectives spent much of Friday combing the area for evidence, with neighbours telling Nine News Perth they heard a pregnant woman crying out for help and claiming she had been kicked in the head and back.

It is understood the pair had only lived in the apartment for a matter of weeks.
