Trevor Noah is theThe Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Britney Griner's verdict over the news. Yesterday, Noah denounced the country and its legal system after the WNBA star was convicted of drug smuggling charges and sentenced to her nine years in prison by a Russian court.
"This is bullshit. This is bullshit," he began. "We all know Russia doesn't care what Britney Griner did."
Noah continued, "This is breaking every human rights law on earth. Get the fuck out of here, man.
Then he repeated.
"One of the good news. One is that this just seems like a bargaining tactic," Noah said, adding, "Anyone America is in prison, send to Russia. Yeah it looks like they won but forget it. No, he has to live in Russia now... yeah, yeah."
Noah sarcastically put on his Russian accent again. I miss the food on Alcatraz Island.”
Noah didn't just blame Russia. He called his WNBA and briefly touched on the root of the problem, telling the audience: to make money.
