New bodies found in Lake Mead may be related to bones found in July

Two of the nation's largest reservoirs dry up

Human remains found at Lake Mead National Recreation Area {76 Last weekend's may actually be from the same set of bones found 12 days earlier, officials said Tuesday.

Rangers were summoned to a reservoir between Nevada and Arizona on Saturday after human bones were found on Swim Beach, according to a National Park Service official .

However, the Clark County coroner's office said the partial human remains found in the Boulder Beach area on July 25 were said it may actually be related to the skeletal remains found in .

"At this time, the investigation of these remains includes the task of determining whether the two sets of remains belong to the same person," the coroner's office said in his Las Vegas told the Review-Journal.

On May 1, barrels containinghuman remains were found near Hemenway Harbor. Police believe the body belonged to a man who died from a gunshot wound and that the body was likely dumped in the mid-1970s to early 1980s.

Six days later, authorities } announced the discovery of another male skeleton in Calvil Bay.

These findings are related to long-unsolved missing persons and murders dating back decades, to the dawn of organized crime and Las Vegas. Speculated, just a 30 minute drive from the lake.

 Shipwrecks Ships dating back to World War II were also found beneath the shallows. 

Police speculate that more bodies may be found as the water level in Lake Mead continues to drop.

Last week, the United Nations issued a warning that Lake Mead and Lake Powell were at record lows and nearly reaching their limits." Deadpool State.  Such conditions mean that the water level is so low that it cannot flow downstream to power hydroelectric power plants. 

Last month, satellite images released by  NASA showed Lake Mead's dramatic changes at 2000. Shown from 2020 to 2022. Water levels have reached their lowest point in over 85 years.
