Former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro said "get out of here" when federal agents tried to serve him. I was. The Justice Department filed a subpoena days before being arrested for contempt of Congress for refusing to appear before a House panel investigating last year's Capitol riots, the Justice Department said.

In Monday's filing DOJ sought to refute Navarro's allegations that it failed to provide necessary investigative materials to the former White House. This is not normal law enforcement practice," he said.

Investigators visited Navarro's home days before he was indicted by a federal grand jury, according to documents.

"When the case agent visited him and attempted to file a subpoena at his residence, the defendant at first refused to open the door, and when he opened the door, told the agent, 'F*. It said to get ''** from here,'' the court document states. He was indicted on June 2 and the next day he was arrested at Reagan National Airport in Northern Virginia while trying to board a flight to Nashville.

To avoid a "media circus," investigators had Navarro parked "in a discreet spot on the airport's jet bridge," and had him booked "out of the public eye." the Justice Department said. Said.

After his first court appearance, Trump supporter Navarro told reporters that investigators "broke me into a corner" and the former imprisonment of John Hinckley Jr. The attempted assassination of former President Ronald Reagan, which emphasized detaining him in a detention cell.

"They thought it was like an important historical note," Navarro said at the time. "It's disrespectful. What they did to me today is unconstitutional."

In a filing Monday, the Justice Department said the U.S. and whether they surrender or not” is standard procedure to follow.
