Australia’s Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs visits Bhutan

Australia’s Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tim Watts, MP arrived in the country this morning. During the one-day visit, he will meet with representatives from the government and communities and religious leaders in the country.

“This week I will travel to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and India to strengthen our bilateral cooperation, discuss our shared strategic interests and further Australia’s trade and investment ties. It is also a key opportunity to build on our strong people-to-people links between each of our countries,” he wrote on his official website.

Foreign Minister Dr Tandi Dorji travelled to Australia last year as part of the celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Australia.
