MP Kirk Humphrey delivers stationery and encouragement to 11-plus students

Do the best you can.

This was the message delivered by the Member of Parliament for St Michael South, Kirk Humphrey, as he delivered care packages for students of the Bay Primary school  in time for the Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Examination (BSSEE) on Tuesday.

Humphrey advised the group of Class 4 pupils who received pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and clipboards, not to stress during the exam because one test cannot determine their future.

“Do not panic, because your life is not determined by one test. As a matter of fact some of [you] will do very well on the test, and some may not do as well on the test [but] then those people go on to do very well in life. So don’t judge anybody based on the school that they passed for when their results come back, do not make sport at your friends for any of those things.

“Tomorrow when you go there you have to go as one team… do the best you can. I believe that you all will do well,” he said.

A total of 3 295 students will write this year’s Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE). This figure comprises 1 665 males and 1 630 females.
